Stephanie Thornhill joined Silhol Law in 2015, bringing a strong background working in-house in both the hospital and clinical research industries. Stephanie’s practice focuses on counseling clients on healthcare regulatory and transactional matters affecting hospitals and health care providers, advising and navigating medical device companies and clinical research sites through the clinical trial process, as well as assisting with other general matters that healthcare entities may encounter. Stephanie’s prior experience has provided her with a sound and practical understanding of the many issues that healthcare entities face operationally.
Prior to joining Silhol Law, Stephanie was in-house counsel for a Texas-based hospital system, where she provided legal counsel on a variety of issues, with a heavy emphasis on contract negotiation and regulatory issues, including HIPAA and anti-kickback issues. Stephanie’s in-house hospital work gave her a solid understanding of hospital operations, including vendor services, equipment, supplies, subleases, timeshares, licensing, and group purchasing agreements.
Stephanie has also worked in-house in the clinical research industry, both for a provider of clinical trial acceleration and strategic consulting services for the pharmaceutical industry, and for a biotech company. During her time working in the pharmaceutical field, Stephanie developed a fundamental understanding of the clinical trial process and the challenges facing biotech and pharmaceutical companies during the drug development process.
Stephanie graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in English from Louisiana Tech University. Stephanie obtained her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review.
